Pronounced “boo-sher-WET”. These super-colorful “rag rugs” add a splash of fun to each room. In Morocco you see these rugs every where, including riad floors and camel backs. Boucherouites are woven by Berber women in the High Atlas Mountains from old pieces of fabric. Like most Moroccan rugs, each piece is unique and strongly reflects the personality of the woman who wove it. While some take on more simple patterns, the majority of them serve not only as a rug but a an abstract piece of art as well.
